The Basic Components of a Grant Proposal
There are a total of eight basic components to creating a valid and well organized grant proposal. A grant proposal contains:
- a summary of the proposal;
- the organization introduction (or yourself);
- a problem statement (also known as “needs assessment”);
- your project objectives;
- the project methods or design;
- the evaluation of the project;
- future funding plans; and
- the budget for the project.
The following sections provide a summary and tips for addressing each of these components properly in your proposal.
