Finding the Right Source

Though there are a myriad of sources for grants, they can be summarized into the following two categories:

Federal Grants

The federal government offers programs that are especially designed
for several areas of assistance. It is important to understand that
financial assistance is not just handed out for the asking, as stated
earlier. You have to pass a certain eligibility requirement to be able
to avail of these government grants. Each grant will contain the
eligibility requirements within the summary.

Foundation Grants

Private foundations also offer programs to specific individuals or
needs. For the most part, foundation grants are slightly harder to be
awarded only due to the fact of “overall knowledge” that these programs
exist. The goal behind foundation grants is not only to help individuals
or groups but also to assist the organization for tax purposes.
